Privacy Policy

Asasly is a learning, knowledge and technology platform for non-Arabs. It is operated by Tamer Saqr, Egypt (“Asasly”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we handle on our website asasly.com and in our apps, starting with Asasly Arabic, why we handle it, and the choices and rights you have.

In short

  • We do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.
  • The website uses no cookies and no analytics. It only remembers your language choice, on your own device.
  • In the app, you can learn without an account. Your progress then stays on your device.
  • An account is optional. If you create one, we keep only what is needed to save your progress across your devices.

1. The website

When you visit asasly.com:

  • Your language choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, so the site opens in your language next time. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s data for this site.
  • The website is hosted by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web host, GitHub records technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and keep it secure. See GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
  • The website’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver them, Google receives your IP address and basic information about your browser. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • If you email us, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply to you. Emails sent to hello@asasly.com pass through an email forwarding service before they reach us.

2. The app

Asasly Arabic is in development. This section describes how it will handle information when it is released.

  • Learning without an account: your progress and settings are saved on your device only. We do not receive them.
  • Optional account: you may sign in with Google or with your email address to keep your progress across your devices. We then store your email address, the name you choose to show, and your learning progress. When you sign in with Google, Google shares with us the basic profile information you allow.
  • We do not currently use analytics, crash reporting or advertising tools. If we add any, we will update this policy before they take effect and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
  • The app is currently free and collects no payment information.

3. How we use information

We use information only to provide and improve our services, save and sync your learning progress, reply to your messages, keep our services secure, and meet our legal obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in running and securing it, your consent, or our legal obligations.

4. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Asasly, such as hosting, sign-in and email services, and only as far as they need it to do so; when the law requires it; or if Asasly is transferred to a company established to operate it, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5. How long we keep information

Information saved on your device stays there until you delete the app or clear your browser’s data. Account information is kept while your account is active and is deleted within 30 days after you delete your account or ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these rights, write to hello@asasly.com. We will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

7. Deleting your account

You will be able to delete your account from within the app. You can also email hello@asasly.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will delete your account and its data within 30 days.

8. Children

Our website and Asasly Arabic are intended for people aged 13 and over. Younger children should use them only under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without the consent of a parent or guardian; if we learn that we have, we will delete it. Parents and guardians can contact us at hello@asasly.com. A version of the app designed for children is in preparation and will have its own privacy notice.

9. Security

Our website is served over an encrypted connection, and we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards and terms.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services develop, for example when the app is released or new features are added. We will post the new version on this page with its date and tell you in the app about important changes.
